We may not re
alise it but the crust of the Earth that we use is very, very small. My diagram of the Earth's layers is not to scale. The Earth's crust is in infact a lot, lot, lot, lot, lot, smaller. The whole crust would actually be thinner than a pencil line on that scale!
Imagine what it would look like if we just drew the the section of the crust that we live in. It would be miniscule!
Lets say, for my investigation, that the land that we live on is about 1 kilometre thick but even this is a lot more then we actually use.
Now try comparing that to the entire crust. That would be 1/35 of the entire crust!
That may sound a lot but read on and find out just how little it actually is.
